MARUTI SUZUKI A-STAR FULL DETAILS

The A-Star is Maruti Suzuki’s new Alto variant for European market with the name ‘Pixo’. The same car is all set to sell alongside the Maruti Alto in Indian market. A-Star is expected have a 1000 cc engine, 37 bhp and it is expected to be priced around Rs 4 lakhs (ex-showroom). This car will be Maruti’s newest addition in the A2 segment joining other models like WagonR and Zen Estilo. It has been reviewed that an all new one litre aluminium engine promises to be smoother and more efficient than the current range of Maruti engines. The A-Star was exhibited in Auto expo 2008 at New Delhi, most of our attention was caught towards Tata’s Nano in that event during January 2008. The design of A-Star is the fusion of maruti's alto and swift with Hyundai's i10 as the backbone. The car seems to be a copy of i10 in many respects in case of design. The bulging front- headlamp is the best pointer to this notion. Continuous head-rest seats and the interior -design adds to this fact to some extent.
